The Parade
Once you are in my parade you are in my parade forever
All the work I did all these years was like creating a huge mountain of memories in the form of photographs. The mountain is my archive. It is the greatest gift I can leave my children and share with you. Each photograph I take gets added and becomes the sum of all the others. It is like a parade I started when I was 7. Each new person I photograph is in the front of the parade until the next person I photograph - but once you are in the parade you are ALWAYS in the parade.
Luckily the parade captures the memories perfectly. It proves why I have never been bored, warts and all. It is full of secrets that reveal themselves in time. NOW is the time. I have been digging deep with super fun dives into the archive. Looking back at such a large number of images has always overwhelmed me. I TOOK those pictures? What was I THINKING?
Mostly I was not thinking. I was doing much of the work intuitively and indulging my love of improvisation. The more I did, the bigger my reputation grew - the more people were open to playing with me.
The discovery is wild. I am going to share some discoveries here - but also privately. Most of the images I am discovering have never been seen - even by me. I took them but never really looked at them. Everything I share is available as a print. If you are interested in seeing the newly discovered images, contact Kye in my studio (studio@langestudio.com).
My shoots are place to share gifts. My subjects give me the greatest gift - and it is them. I give them a gift back - and that is the proof of what makes them so special.
